Newberry County Courts

Newberry County Criminal and Civil Records

Additionally, interested persons may obtain a Newberry County marriage certificate by contacting the South Carolina Department of Public Health Vital Records Office. Records are available for marriages since July 1950.
Only an individual who is one of the married party, an adult child of the married party, present or former spouse of either married party, or a legal representative may obtain a certified copy of a marriage record from the DPH. Third-party requestors may only obtain a declaration that the marriage took place, along with the date and county where the marriage license was granted.
Eligible requesters are required to provide a valid ID along with a non-refundable fee of $17, with $3 for each additional copy and a $12.85 additional charge to pay for the services of an independent service provider. Requests may be made in person, via mail, or drop-off.
Newberry County Divorce Records
The Newberry County Family Court is primarily responsible for handling divorce case filings in the county. South Carolina divorce records are typically considered to be public records and may be accessed by the public.
